E-Sign Consent Disclosure
This disclosure explains your consent to electronic records and signatures when using JHBRIDGE Translation Services, including how electronic signatures are applied, verified, and recorded.
Effective Date: June 2026
Consent to Electronic Records and Signatures
By using JHBRIDGE's electronic signature features, you consent to conducting transactions electronically, receiving documents and records in electronic form, and using electronic signatures in connection with JHBRIDGE Translation Services. Your electronic signature will have the same legal effect, validity, and enforceability as a handwritten signature to the extent permitted by applicable law.
This consent is provided in accordance with applicable federal and state laws governing electronic signatures, including the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-SIGN Act, 15 U.S.C. 7001 et seq.) and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA) as adopted in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and other applicable jurisdictions. These laws generally provide that a signature, contract, or record may not be denied legal effect solely because it is in electronic form.
Your consent to electronic records and signatures applies to all documents and transactions processed through JHBRIDGE's e-signature system, including but not limited to service agreements, project authorizations, translation certifications, interpreter assignment confirmations, non-disclosure agreements, and any other documents presented for electronic signature through JHBRIDGE's platform.
You are not required to consent to electronic signatures. If you prefer to sign documents using traditional handwritten methods, please contact JHBRIDGE to discuss alternative arrangements. However, certain services or features that depend on electronic signatures may not be available without this consent.
Binding Effect
Electronic signatures applied through JHBRIDGE's e-signature system are intended to be legally binding. By applying your electronic signature to a document, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the document, that you intend to sign the document, and that you intend to be bound by its terms and conditions.
The act of applying your electronic signature -- whether by clicking an "I agree" or "Sign" button, typing your name in a designated signature field, drawing your signature on a touchscreen, or using any other method provided by JHBRIDGE's e-signature system -- constitutes your signature and indicates your intent to sign. Each method of applying an electronic signature carries the same legal weight and binding effect.
If you are signing on behalf of a business, organization, or other entity, your electronic signature represents that you have the authority to bind that entity to the terms of the document. JHBRIDGE may, but is not required to, request verification of your signing authority before processing the document.
Audit Trail
JHBRIDGE maintains comprehensive audit records of electronic signature events to support the integrity, authenticity, and verifiability of electronically signed documents. These audit records are created automatically when an electronic signature is applied and are stored securely as part of JHBRIDGE's record-keeping practices.
Audit trail records may include, but are not limited to, the following information: the signer's name and email address as provided at the time of signing, the IP address of the device used to apply the signature, user-agent information identifying the browser and operating system used, the precise date and timestamp of the signature event, a cryptographic hash or digest of the signed document, and the signing method used (such as click-to-sign, typed signature, or drawn signature).
These audit trail records are retained by JHBRIDGE for verification, dispute resolution, and compliance purposes. Audit trail data may be disclosed to the parties to a signed document, to legal counsel, to regulatory authorities upon lawful request, or as otherwise required by applicable law. JHBRIDGE takes reasonable measures to protect the integrity and confidentiality of audit trail records.
In the event of a dispute regarding the authenticity or timing of an electronic signature, JHBRIDGE's audit trail records will serve as evidence of the signature event. While JHBRIDGE believes its audit trail system provides reliable evidence of electronic signature events, JHBRIDGE does not guarantee that audit trail records will be accepted as conclusive evidence in all legal proceedings or jurisdictions.
Document Integrity
JHBRIDGE uses cryptographic methods, including AWS Key Management Service (AWS KMS), to help verify the integrity of documents after they have been electronically signed. When a document is signed, a cryptographic hash of the document is generated and stored as part of the audit trail. This hash can be used to detect whether the document has been altered after signing.
Document integrity verification capabilities are provided as a reasonable safeguard to help detect unauthorized modifications to signed documents. However, these capabilities are not a guarantee against all forms of tampering, data corruption, or unauthorized access. Cryptographic verification is one layer of protection among several that JHBRIDGE employs, but no security measure is infallible.
If you receive an electronically signed document from JHBRIDGE and have concerns about its integrity or authenticity, you may contact JHBRIDGE to request verification against the stored audit trail records. JHBRIDGE will make reasonable efforts to assist with verification requests, though response times may vary depending on the nature and complexity of the request.
Right to Paper Copies
You have the right to request a paper copy of any document that you have electronically signed through JHBRIDGE's e-signature system, or any document that has been provided to you in electronic form in connection with JHBRIDGE services. To request a paper copy, contact JHBRIDGE at the email address or phone number listed at the bottom of this page.
Paper copies of electronically signed documents may be provided at no additional charge for a reasonable number of requests. If requests for paper copies become frequent or voluminous, JHBRIDGE reserves the right to charge a reasonable fee for reproduction, printing, and delivery costs. Any applicable fees will be communicated to you before the paper copies are produced and shipped.
Paper copies will be sent to the mailing address you provide. Please allow a reasonable processing and delivery time for paper copy requests. JHBRIDGE is not responsible for delays caused by postal services or incorrect mailing addresses provided by the requester.
Withdrawal of Consent
You may withdraw your consent to receive electronic records and to use electronic signatures at any time by contacting JHBRIDGE in writing at contact@jhbridgetranslation.com. Your withdrawal request should clearly state your name, the email address associated with your account, and your desire to withdraw consent to electronic records and signatures.
Please be aware that withdrawing your consent may affect your ability to use certain JHBRIDGE services that require electronic signatures or electronic delivery of documents. Some services may not be available without electronic signature consent, and alternative arrangements (such as physical document signing) may result in delays or additional costs.
Withdrawal of consent applies prospectively only and does not affect the legal validity or enforceability of any electronic signatures that were applied before the withdrawal took effect. Documents that were electronically signed while your consent was in effect remain legally binding according to their terms.
JHBRIDGE will process withdrawal requests within a reasonable timeframe and will confirm receipt of your withdrawal in writing. After withdrawal is processed, JHBRIDGE will provide records and documents in paper form unless and until you provide renewed consent to electronic delivery.
Hardware and Software Requirements
To access, review, sign, and retain electronic records provided by JHBRIDGE, you need the following hardware and software: a computer, tablet, smartphone, or other device with a reliable internet connection capable of accessing websites over HTTPS; a current, supported web browser that supports TLS 1.2 or higher encryption (such as recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge); sufficient local storage space or cloud storage capacity to download, save, or print electronic documents for your records; and a valid, active email address for receiving notifications, document links, and copies of signed documents.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your hardware, software, and internet connection meet these requirements. JHBRIDGE is not responsible for your inability to access, view, or sign electronic documents due to outdated software, insufficient hardware, network connectivity issues, or email delivery problems on your end.
JHBRIDGE recommends that you download and save a copy of each electronically signed document for your personal records at the time of signing. While JHBRIDGE retains copies of signed documents in accordance with its record retention practices, maintaining your own copies ensures that you have access to your documents regardless of changes to JHBRIDGE's systems or services.
Authority to Sign
By using JHBRIDGE's electronic signature feature, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity and authority to sign the document being presented to you. If you are signing as an individual, you represent that you are of legal age and sound mind and that you are signing voluntarily and of your own free will.
If you are signing on behalf of a company, organization, partnership, trust, government agency, or any other entity, you represent and warrant that you have been duly authorized to sign on behalf of that entity and to bind the entity to the terms of the document. JHBRIDGE relies on this representation in processing your electronic signature and is not required to independently verify your authority, though it may request documentation of authority at its discretion.
If it is later determined that you did not have the authority to sign a document on behalf of an entity, you may be personally liable for any obligations arising from the document, and JHBRIDGE reserves the right to treat the signature as invalid for purposes of the entity's obligations.
No Guarantee of Third-Party Acceptance
While electronic signatures are broadly recognized under federal and state law, JHBRIDGE does not guarantee that electronically signed documents will be accepted by all third parties, institutions, courts, government agencies, foreign authorities, or other recipients. Certain organizations may have their own policies regarding the acceptability of electronic signatures, and some may require original handwritten signatures, notarized documents, or other specific forms of authentication.
It is the user's responsibility to confirm with the intended recipient of an electronically signed document whether that recipient accepts electronic signatures. JHBRIDGE is not liable for any consequences arising from a third party's refusal to accept an electronically signed document, including delays, additional costs, or the need to re-execute documents with handwritten signatures.
JHBRIDGE may provide guidance or general information about the acceptability of electronic signatures in certain contexts, but such guidance is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute a guarantee or legal advice. Users should consult with their own legal counsel if they have specific concerns about the acceptability of electronic signatures for their particular use case.
